Kirby's Dreamland
|
Kirby's Dreamland is Kirby's first game. Kirby had not been
developed all the way to what he is now, for he lacks many
of his later powers in this game. He can not copy abilities,
but he does have a large amount of items which can aid him.
Some of the items are transferred over to abilities later,
like the Mike item.
In this game, Kirby must recover the food-bringing Sparkling
Stars that King Dedede has stolen. He'll need to go through
five different stages to recover them. Each stage is
|
filled with enemies to hinder Kirby's progress.
Unfortunately, the game has no save states - but no worries,
the game is actually rather short. The five stages include
Green Greens, Castle Lololo, Float Islands, Bubbly Clouds and
Mt. Dedede. All of the levels are rather long and much
different from each other. The first four levels are normal,
but the last one has you fighting the four bosses you've
already beaten in previous stages again before you can fight
Dedede.

Kirby's Dreamland was unique. In no other game could you
inhale enemies and have the option of either using them as
ammo or just eating them. Kirby's Dreamland provided
something different from normal platforming games such as
Super Mario Bros. Kirby could also fly for an unlimited
amount of time.
Kirby's Dreamland was remade in Kirby Super Star as Spring
Breeze, a game that much resembled Kirby's Dreamland.
However, it was in full color, Kirby could gain abilities,
and it was
|
much shorter.
When you finish the game, the fun's not over! When you do,
you'll learn a secret code that allows you to activate the
Extra Game. The Extra Game contains the same levels and
such, but the stages are filled with smarter enemies that
take away more damage than usual. The bosses
have also been upgraded, as they have new attacks and are
much quicker.
All in all, Kirby's Dreamland was a classic.
