Kirby and the Amazing Mirror

While Kirby and the Amazing Mirror looks the same as Nightmare in Dreamland at a glance, the game is really much different from previous Kirby games.

The thing that probably seperates this game from the others is the fact that the game is non-linear - this means that you can travel pretty much anywhere, whenever you want.
There are also several new abilities that Kirby can copy. Fighter, Bomb and Cook make their return from Kirby Super Star, but that's not all. The new abilities are Cupid, Missile, Mini, Magic and Smash - along with one secret ability for the final battles.

In Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, Kirby has been split into four different Kirbies. He can then call them on his cell phone in case he
needs help. Be careful, though - if you run out of batteries you won't be able to call them. You may also use the cell phone to call a Warpstar. It will then take you to the Hub, the main area that has doorways to each level.

There are also three new sub-games, with one to unlock. They're all four player, so your friends can hook up their Game Boys to compete in one of the
sub-games. They're good if you tire of the main game.

A new area is the Collection Room, which allows you to view the items you've collected. There, you can use Spraypaint to change Kirby's colors, see how many maps you've gotten, play music on the Sound Player and check how many Extra Vitals you have. However, common items such as 1-Ups and Maxim Tomatos don't appear there.
There's a whole new lineup of bosses for the game, ranging from flying robots to sharks. The only boss from previous games is Kracko, who makes an appearence in Area 4. However, the rest are all new.

It's a large game, and there are nine areas in all. For easier access, there's the Hub in area one. The Hub allows you to travel to areas that you've already been
to - providing that you hit the Big Switch in that area. Once you hit it, a door will appear in the Hub and that area will be connected. The more doors you have between areas, the easier it will be to navigate around the areas.

All in all, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror was a great addition to the Kirby series. Even while the GBA was overtaken by the DS, it will remain a classic.
