Kirby and the Amazing Mirror

Beam

Beam can be a useful ability on occasion, as it can reach through walls to hit blocks and enemies on the other side, but it's far too weak to be useful for much else. It only has one move as well, so that's a downside. Basically, you should only use it if you have nothing better - but those are rare happenings.
B: Beam Whip
This is Beam's only move, and a relatively weak one at that. Basically, a beam comes out of Kirby's hand and moves downwards in a whip-like fashion. It's not too powerful, and it hardly deals any damage. But it can hit things other abilities can't, as the beam moves through walls.
Bomb

Bomb is a pretty strong ability, and it has quite a few uses. If you need a long range ability, Bomb is a good choice. It's not as powerful as it was in Kirby Super Star, but it still does the job well. It works well against mini-bosses and bosses. It has other uses as well, as you can drop unexploded bombs on switches, giving you extra time to scurry through the door.
B: Bring out Bomb
Pressing B brings out a bomb. Once you press B again, you'll be able to throw the bomb. Don't hold it in your hands for too long though, or it'll explode, hurting only yourself. When it flashes red, you'll know it's about to explode.
B: Throw Bomb
Once you bring out a bomb, you can throw it in pretty much any direction - up, left, right and down. If you press down + B next to a cliff, you can drop it down below to hit switches and the sort.
Burning

Burning is a bit like the Fire ability, but when used, Kirby shoots forwards in a ball of flame. It's useful when you need to get through a small gap or past spikes, as it goes straight forwards. It can also break the metal blocks you'll see occasionally.
B: Fireball
Press B to surge forwards a bit in a ball of fire. You're pretty much invincible while in this form, but once you revert back to regular form, you'll be rather vulnerable for a couple of seconds - be careful.
Cook

Cook is a one time use ability, meaning it vanishes after one use. It does serve a useful purpose, though, especially when you're low on health - using this abilitity causes all the enemies onscreen to be turned into bits of health replenishing food items.
B: Cook
When used, Kirby produces a rather large pot from seemingly nowhere and procedes to suck all enemies on screen into the pot. Note that while you're in cook form you're invincible, so in the short period before you begin cooking the enemies, you're safe. Now, Kirby will stir them up and turn them into food, which will jump out of the pot. One food item per enemy, you see. It won't work on mini-bosses or bosses, but it will work on dead mini-bosses.
Crash

Crash is a very powerful ability, but it's a one time use ability like Cook. What it does is destroys every enemy on screen...however, I must admit, it's not too useful. You'll only need to use it on rare occasions, when you're surrounded by enemies.
B: Crash
When used, Kirby basically explodes, killing all enemies. However, if you use it on bosses or mini-bosses, it usually won't kill them - but it will do a good amount of damage.
Cupid

Cupid is one of the newer abilities in the Kirby series. With it, you can fly around with ease and fire heart-tipped arrows at villains. It doesn't do a whole lot of damage, but it's still a useful abilities. You can also fly through small, spike filled tunnels much easier.
B: Arrow
When you pres B, Kirby will shoot a heart-tipped arrow in front of him. However, you can aim it pretty much anywhere you want, as if you hold down the button, you can aim it diagonally so you can hit enemies who are far away and in the sky.
B: Triple Arrow
If you hold down B long enough, Kirby will begin to pulsate. If you let go, Kirby will fire three arrows at once, which go farther than one. Also, you can use them as sort of a spreadshot attack. They're more powerful as well.
A: Fly
This is basically just a different way to fly. However, you won't sink nearly as fast with Cupid, and you can fly straight ahead without sinking. This is useful if you need to get through a small, spike filled gap. You can also fire arrows while flying, so you can get some air hits in.
Cutter

While Cutter has been upgraded a bit, it's still very weak, making it not very useful. However, it can cut strings, which reveal secret areas. But anyway, I don't really reccomend this ability, especially against bosses. So, only pick it up if you really need an ability rather badly.
B: Cutter Boomerang
Kirby throws a cutter that spins around boomerang fashion, then spins back the way it came. The cutter can be controlled, though. Holding B makes the cutter go father. Pressing up or down makes the cutter curve upwards or down.
Fighter

Fighter is a powerful ability. It has lots of moves, so you can create some pretty good combos. However, some of the moves can leave you pretty vulnerable. So, it's not reccomended if you're in crowded rooms. Better used for bosses.

Tap B: Vulcan Jab + Punch Combo
This is Fighter's basic move. If you tap B repeatedly, Kirby will first do a Vulcan Jab, then kick upwards, then punch down. Be careful, as you could fall into a pit with the third move. Kirby will do them all one after another, so you can't do only one. If you stop pressing B, you'll end the combo.

Also, Kirby Super Star veterans may recognize the Vulcan Jab from the original Fighter ability in Kirby Super Star.
Hold B: Fighter Beam
If you hold down B, Kirby will begin to charge an attack. Release B for a small beam to be fired forward. Hold B longer and the attack will be more powerful. This can go through walls, allowing you to hit switches.
Forward + B: Kick Combo
Pressing this causes Kirby to lunge forward, kicking at enemies in front of him. Any enemy that Kirby touches while performing this attack will be dragged along in a combo. However, it doesn't work too well for bosses or mini-bosses.
Dash + B: Dash Kick
If you press B while dashing, Kirby unleashes a powerful attack which does large damage to anyone in front of him. It can be used agianst bosses, as Kirby comes to a stop after using this attack.
Up + B: Rising Break
Taken straight from Kirby Super Star, this move can be rather powerful. When used, Kirby rises into the air, taking enemies along. The enemies will then be sent in the air, knocking them quite a ways away.
Down + B (in air): Downward Kick
This move only works in the air. When used, Kirby moves diagnally downwards. If he hits an enemy, he'll bounce off of him undamaged. However, this move leaves you rather vulnerable, so don't use it in crowded rooms.
Fire

Fire is exactly what it sounds like - when Kirby copied the ability, he can breathe fire. You can now change the direction of the fire, though. As you've probably guessed, it can also light fuses to cannons, opening up new areas to explore.
B: Flame Breath
This only works if you keep B held down. Once you hold the button down, you can change the direction of the fire by pushing up or down. You can also extend its reach by pressing away from you and you can increase the power by pushing the button towards Kirby.
Hammer

Hammer is a great ability with many moves - all being very powerful. It's a good weapon to use against bosses as it can often take care of them rather quickly. The only downside is that most of the moves are rather slow, leaving you vulnerable. It can also break metal blocks and pound pegs.
B: Pound
This move has Kirby hit the ground in front of him with his hammer. It can pound in stakes, and it's pretty powerful. However, it has little range.
Up + B: Hammer Flip
This move is insanely powerful. It's basically an instant kill to any enemy. To bosses and minibosses, it does heavy damage. However, it has a couple seconds of delay time before attacking, so it leaves you vulnerable. Use it against slow enemies. It can also light fuses to cannons.
Dash + B: Hammer Spin
This is a bit like Fighter's Kick Combo, as any enemy who gets caught in it will be comboed. I don't reccomend using it against bosses, though.
Jump, B: Hammer Whirl
When in the air, pressing B will result in Kirby spinning his hammer around once. It hits to all sides of him, but it's still a bit slow so attacks may get in.
Ice

Ice is really rather close to the Fire ability. However, Kirby breathes ice instead of fire obviously. The thing that makes Ice different than Fire is the fact that any enemy that is caught in the ice will be frozen solid, and you can kick him into other enemies.
B: Ice Breath
You have to hold down B for it to work. Unlike Fire, you can't control which direction the ice moves in. If an enemy touches the ice, he'll be frozen into an ice block. However, the block will break after about five seconds.
Forward (after freezing enemy): Kick
If you touch the frozen enemy, he'll go on a straight line opposite of your direction. This is useful for defeating multiple enemies at once.
Laser

Laser has been downgraded since Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland. While it's the same ability, it has been weakened quite a bit, resulting in little use for it. However, it can still be used to bounce off slopes to hit enemies and bomb blocks in hard to reach places.
B: Laser Fire
Presing B causes a laser to be shot out. It's long range but weak. It works good against deadly close range bosses such as Box Boxer. In addition to bouncing off slopes, Laser can also light fuses to cannons.
Magic

Magic is another new ability, but it's only a one time use ability. It's a rare ability, but it's a rather useful one. When used, a roulette will start. Whichever one it lands on will have a different effect. You are invincible while the roulette is spinning, so you have plenty of time.
B: Roulette Spin
Press B to get the roulette spinning. There are several different things it can land on, but most of them need enemies in the room to work well.

If it lands on cherries, all enemies in the room will turn into food items - just like Cook. Meta Knight's Sword will call Meta Knight, who will destroy every enemy and do damage to bosses. The 1-Up will turn every enemy onscreen into a 1-Up. The Hyper Candy has the same effect as a real one would - it grants you limited invincibility. And last, the ? gives you a random copy ability.
Master

Master isn't a normal ability - instead, you get it from Meta Knight for the final boss battles against Dark Mind. However, when you beat the game, Meta Knight will drop his sword in the center of the hub for use any time. When you are attacked and lose the ability, the sword will not come out in star form. Instead, the sword will bounce around forever unless you leave the room. Master can pound pegs, cut strings, break metal blocks and light fuses. It can solve any puzzle.
B: Sword Slash
If you tap B, Kirby will execute a basic sword swipe that is included in the regular Sword ability. It has decent range and can go through walls.
Tap B: Rapid Slash
Tap B repeatedly and Kirby will slash repeatedly in front of him with the sword, catching all enemies in a combo. It works well against bosses, too.
Hold B: Sword Beam
If you hold down B and then release, Kirby will perform a sword move that moves forward for a bit, going through walls. It can be used to hit switches on the other side of walls. This can be done in the air if needed.
Up + B: Upward Slash
This is a useful move, as Kirby thrusts the sword into the air hitting enemies above him. It does good damage, and it's very useful when trying to hit flying bosses or enemies. If you use it in the air, you'll stay in place for a second while you're using it.
Down + B (in air): Downward Slash
This move is a bit like Stone, due to the fact that you head straight down once you use it. However, when you hit the ground, Kirby will flip around and jump back to his feet. It's very powerful, like all Master's moves are.
Dash + B: Sword Charge
This move is actually a lot like the Burning ability. It does have a bit more range, though. When used, you're pretty much invincible. It also comboes very well, making it one of the most powerful moves in the game. It can kill bosses with only a few hits. It works in the air as well.
B (in air): Sword Spin
No different from the traditional Sword Spin from Sword. I don't think there's any difference, except this may be a bit more powerful. It protects you from pretty much all sides.
B + Down: Slide Stab
As the sword is held out while Kirby is sliding, it's more powerful than the traditional slide. It damages bosses, but it won't bounce off enemies.
Mini

Mini is a new ability created for this game. When Kirby gets the ability, he can crawl through small crevices normal Kirby can't. However, you can't attack at all and the B button does nothing. Once you leave the room, the ability will be lost. It's only useful for getting in small openings, so don't inhale it if you don't need it.
Missile

Missile is another new ability. Basically, Kirby turns into a missile and flies around the screen. However, the missile is rather hard to control, and Kirby explodes when he comes in contact with an enemy or a wall. Missile can break the metal blocks you'll see sometimes. It can also go through star blocks without slowing down.
B: Missile
Press B to transform into a missile. Press B again to change back to Kirby. The missile moves forward all by itself, and you can turn it using the control pad. It's a bit hard to control, and it's a bit reckless.
Parasol

Parasol is a useful ability when you're dealing with enemies from above, like Foleys. It's not very powerful, but it serves as good protection. You can also use it to float down slowly, good for spike filled passages. It also doesn't have very good range.
B: Parasol Swing
Press B to have Kirby attack in front of him with his parasol. It also generates a burst of particles, which gives the attack a little more range, but does little damage. You can hold down B forever to continue attacking.
Fall: Parasol Float
If you jump, fall off a cliff or exhale after flying, Kirby will be caught by the parasol and gently float to earth. It's not too useful though, and often annoying.
Sleep

Try not to copy Sleep, as Kirby will fall to sleep once you copy it. He'll stay asleep for about eight seconds, leaving you very vulnerable. So in other words, stay away from this ability - unless you want it for fun, of course. However, if you inhale two Noddys at the same time, let the roulette spin and you'll get Smash...
Smash

Smash is a very powerful and rare ability. If you've ever played Super Smash Bros. Melee, you'll be sure to recognize these moves. This ability uses Kirby's abilities from the SSB series, and they're very powerful. Smash can break metal blocks, cut strings and pound pegs. Once you get it, try to hang on to it as long as possible. It works great for killing bosses.
B: Punch
Pressing B repeatedly causes Kirby to let out a series of punches, just like pressing A in Super Smash Bros. Melee. It's not all that powerful, though.
Up + B: Final Cutter
This is a bit like Sword's Up + B move, except you can do it in the air. So for this move, Kirby rises into the air with his cutter and slams into the ground. It's good for killing airborne enemies.
Down + B: Stone
This move is basically the same as the Stone ability. You can roll down hills with it, and it can pound in pegs. You are invincible and immobile while in this form.
Forward + B: Hammer
This is one of Smash's most powerful attacks. It's a bit like Hammer, but instead of pounding the enemy, Kirby flips the hammer upwards causing the enemies do be knocked into the sky. It does good damage to bosses, but it takes a second of elay so be careful.
Jump + B: Spin Attack
This is the same as the Jump + A attack in Super Smash Bros. When used, Kirby spins around with great speed, knocking away enemies in a large radius. It's not all that powerful, though.
Jump + Forward + B: Hammer Spin
While it's the same as Hammer's Jump + B attack, it's a whole lot more powerful - one of the most powerful in the game. As opposed to Hammer's one spin, Smash's Hammer Spin has Kirby spin around three times before stopping. When you use it against bosses, it does a whole lot of damage, especially if you get all three hits of the hammer in.
Spark

Spark is a weak ability, but it can be useful in defeating minor enemies. It creates a temporary shield around Kirby, electrocuting enemies that come near him. However, long range attacks like lasers will go right through the shield, so be careful.
B: Spark
Hold B down and Kirby will unleash a barrage of electricity circling his body. He can't move though, so enemies will need to run into him for it to work. It's weak, so don't use it against bosses.
Stone

Stone can be useful in some instances. It can break metal blocks and pound pegs, opening up passages. While you're in stone form, you are invincible. However, you won't be able to move unless you roll down a hill. It leaves you vulnerable for a few seconds while you transform, though,
B: Stone
Press B and Kirby will transform into a stone. Press B again to change back. You can roll down hills, crushing enemies along the way. I don't reccoment it for boss battles though, as this move leaves you vulnerable.
Sword

Sword is a good ability to get, as it's rather long range and can cut strings. Due to its power and range, it's usually a good weapon against bosses. Most of the moves leave Kirby pretty vulnerable on one side of him, so be careful.
B: Sword Slash
This has farther range than you probably would have guessed. The swipe goes through walls, so you can hit switches and other stuff. It's not too powerful, but it still does the trick.
Tap B: Rapid Slash
Press B repeatedly and Kirby will execute a long range flurry of small sword swipes. Any enemy who hits it will be trapped until you stop tapping B.
Up + B: Jump Slash
This is a bit like Smash's Final Cutter. When used, Kirby jumps upwards and slashes downwards. If an enemy is caught in it, he gets taken along. It's good for airborne enemies. However, you can't use this move in the air.
Down + B: Slide Stab
It's like the normal slide, but it's stronger and does damage to bosses and mini-bosses. However, you won't bounce off enemies you hit.
B (in air): Sword Spin
With this move, Kirby spins around with his sword outstretched, cutting into enemies around him. It doesn't offer complete protection, so be careful.
Throw

I can't honestly say Throw is very useful. It's pretty much the same as traditional inhaling and exhaling, except you can break metal blocks with the enmeies and throw them in different directions. I tend not to copy this as it's not too useful, but it's better than nothing.
B: Inhale
Just like regular inhaling, if an enemy is inhaled he gets grabbed by Kirby. You can then throw him around wherever you please.
B (after grab): Throw Enemy
Once Kirby grabs the enmy, press B to throw him. This will automatically be done if you wait to long. You can't move while you have an enemy in tour hand, but you can throw him upwards by pushing in that direction.
Tornado

Tornado isn't a very powerful ability, but you're virtually invincible while using it. Basically, Kirby turns into a tornado and spins around the room. It's not exactly the easiest to control, and I reccomend it for bosses rather than for fighting enemies.
B: Tornado
You'll have to hold down B if you want this to work - if you let go, Kirby will revert back to normal form. While you're spinning, you can change the directions by pushing left or right. You automatically move upwards.
UFO

UFO is a very powerful and rare ability that you get from copying a UFO enemy. With it, you can fire four different shots, ranging from power depending on how long you hold down B. You can also fly around effortlessly by simply moving the control pad. However, you will not be able to return to the Hub with UFO - you'll lose it when you head back.
B: Beam
Simply tapping B causes Kirby to shoot out a beam, much like the Beam ability. However, it's a bit stronger. It's useful if you need to hit enemies above and below you as well.
Hold B: Laser
If you hold be for a bit, you'll fire a laser. This is basically the same as the Laser ability. It can bounce off slanted platforms to hit things far away. It's not all that powerful, though.
Hold B: Plasma Shot
Hold B for a couple seconds and release to get a stronger version of laser. However, it won't bounce off slopes. But it is bigger, meaning it has more of a chance of hitting enemies.
Hold B: Final Laser
Once Kirby begins to flash, let go to unleash the strongest laser. This goes through walls, enemies and metal blocks and it does heavy damage to bosses. However, it takes a long time to charge.
Wheel

While in wheel form, Kirby is invincible. He moves forward at a rapid speed, killing anything in his path. It's not the best boss killing weapon, though. It's basically the same as it was in previous games, only you can jump a bit while in wheel form by pressing A. This best works in Wheel rooms - there are some rooms out there specially built for the Wheel ability.
B: Wheel
Pressing B turns Kirby into a wheel, who moves automatically forward. You can turn around by pressing the other direction, but you're vulnerable while you turn.
